INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Grace Wu, Education Specialist (Ed.S.)

Dr. Grace Wu, Education Specialist (Ed.S.), is a multilingual educator, scholar, and cultural bridge-builder dedicated to promoting linguistic fluency and cultural awareness. She earned her bachelor's degree in Chinese Literature from Soochow University, where she developed a deep appreciation for both classical and modern Chinese language and culture. She further advanced her training through the 10th Chinese Language Teacher Training Course at Tsinghua University, gaining expertise in curriculum design and second-language acquisition.

After moving to the United States, Dr. Wu earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (ESL) from Carson-Newman University and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in World Language and ESL from the University of Tennessee. She holds multiple U.S. teaching licenses in Chinese, ESL, and Mathematics. Currently, she serves as an ELL and Mathematics teacher at Karns High School in Knoxville.

Traditional Chinese & Culture Classes Starting January 2026

Interactive Traditional Chinese Class Designed for Beginners

This course is for early learners, from absolute beginners to lower-proficiency (CEFR A1-A2) levels. It builds a foundation in Mandarin pronunciation, tone accuracy, basic grammar, and everyday communication, emphasizing practical living skills for those who plan to study, work, or travel in Taiwan. Learners will engage in interactive dialogues, role-play, and cultural discussions to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Chinese characters relevant to daily life.
