Ramya S. Kapadia

I am Ramya S. Kapadia. I grew up in the Middle East & in India & have lived in the USA since 2002. I perform & teach Bharatanatyam & Carnatic music (dance & music forms from South India) & an indigenous art form from Western India called Warli. I believe that art can and should tell stories that inspire audiences to be compassionate and empathetic. As a former medical physicist and neuroscientist, I constantly seek ways to merge the arts and the sciences. Through my school Natyarpana & partnerships with the Durham Arts Council, the United Arts Council & the Tennessee Arts Commission, I share the rich traditions & culture of India with the community.
